Tequila Makers Concerned Over Agave Supply
With and glut of agave plants causing the price to fall and corn, beans and other crops garnishing high prices, agave producers are replacing rows of agaves with these new cash crops. These trends are similar to those experienced by potato farmers in Idaho and coca growers in Bolivia. Some hope that that the crop will rebound in a few years when the oversupply of agave no longer exists.
