Just got an interesting note about a new tequila, MuchoTE Tequila. http://www.muchotetequila.com/index.html

I've been told it's the best reposado ever. It's so new, it doesn't have any awards or reviews yet. No distribution where I am so can't comment.

For me, the reposados I think are top-notch are Espolon, Corzo and Dos Lunas.

What do you think? Have you ever had the MuchoTE? What is your favorite reposado?

Day after Christmas, so still in a little haze. Can't believe I left off Don Fulano. It's a great tequila when you can find it.

I used to think that Repos were Anejo wannabes. Then I started to understand the complexity of a Repo... keeping the Agave flavours of a nice Blanco, while adding the complexities of an Anejo. It's a delicate balance and it makes you appreciate the ones that do it well!

A really, really good Repo demonstrates the understanding, skills and artistry of the distillery that makes it.

Reposados are where I started my whole tequila adventure. They can be smoother than the blancos and have a more distinct tasting profile than the Añejos.

As I drink more, I go between blancos, repos, and añejos as favorites-think it depends on my mood.

I went from grunge Tequila (Cuervo & Sauza)... and then stumbled upon 'good tequila' when I was in Mexico. I quickly jumped all the way to Anejos, then slid "back" to Repos. The more I learned about Tequila, the more I got interested in analyzing the flavours, that turned me onto finding some 'fine' blancos to get a good sense of the Agave Flavour.

So far my fave is Casa Noble Cristal for sipping, and 4 Copas blanco for drinks.

Once I got a sense of that I started to better appreciate then Repos and Anejos.

Tequila tasting can be quite the adventure!
